AI-Mind Partners Present at Prestigious Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Conference in Vienna
Partners from the AI-Mind project are proud to present new research findings this week at the International Conference on Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases (AD/PD 2025), taking place from April 1st to 5th in Vienna, Austria. This prominent annual event brings together leading experts in neurodegenerative research to exchange knowledge, share innovations, and explore strategies to combat Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and related disorders.
Among the many insightful presentations, the AI-Mind team is showcasing a poster titled “Factor analysis of reaction time measures during performance of the Paired Associates Learning task in people with MCI.” This presentation highlights novel findings from the AI-Mind study, which is working to advance early risk assessment and prediction of dementia through artificial intelligence.
The research is grounded in the AI-Mind cohort study, which has collected longitudinal cognitive, clinical, biological, and electrophysiological data from individuals with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Leveraging this rich dataset, the presented study explores innovative digital biomarkers drawn from the Paired Associates Learning (PAL) task, part of the used CANTAB cognitive assessment from Cambridge Cognition.
The goal is to understand how new measures may enhance the sensitivity of early cognitive assessments, especially in identifying those at risk of progressing toward Alzheimer’s Disease. By refining our understanding of the cognitive profiles associated with MCI and potential preclinical Alzheimer’s, this research contributes to the broader mission of AI-Mind: to harness AI-based tools for timely and accurate dementia risk prediction.
Participation in AD/PD 2025 marks another important milestone for AI-Mind, underlining the project’s commitment to scientific excellence, collaboration, and innovation in neurodegenerative disease research.
